International suppliers meet at Accord Fawdon to celebrate growing together in partnership

Accord Fawdon recently hosted a special event to celebrate its supplier partnerships. Attended by over 25 international, national and regional suppliers from across the spectrum of its supply chain the day was focused on growing together in partnership for the benefit of patients throughout the UK and Europe.

Andy Hook, Sector Investment Manager for Life Sciences & Healthcare at the Department for International Trade, gave a guest presentation at the event. He said: “Accord Healthcare is a major pharmaceutical supplier to the NHS, and an employer with the vision to see that the UK is very much open for business. We are excited to see Accord’s presence growing in the UK and its continued investment in the North East. The company is, undoubtedly, making a valuable addition to sector which is of high value to the North East economy in not only jobs, but in expertise and investing in its future.”

Tony Watson, Head of European Procurement, said: “Bringing together our supply partners in our key production facility is a key moment for Accord Healthcare as we strengthen our supplier relationships into key supplier partnerships. The consistent key message through the day was the spirit of Growing Together, whilst challenging our supply partners to think differently. By supporting our growth, they will ensure our medicines are produced in a timely manner. I am immensely proud of the Procurement team for facilitating this day and for the teams at Fawdon for their fabulous presentations.”
